2. What data we collect
- Identification data: name, address, date of birth, ID or passport number when legally required for a sale.
- Contact data: email address, telephone number.
- Vehicle data: plate, chassis number, mileage, photographs and service history.
- Transaction data: invoices, payment references and export documents.
- Technical data: IP address and basic browsing data when you use this website.
3. Why we use it
To answer your enquiry and prepare a valuation (pre-contractual steps), to execute a sale, purchase or export contract, to comply with legal obligations (invoicing, VAT, registration with the DIV, anti-money-laundering checks) and, on the basis of our legitimate interest, to improve our service and prevent fraud.
4. Who receives your data
Only parties needed to deliver the service: our accountant, insurer, transport partner, the Belgian registration authority (DIV), Car-Pass, and IT providers hosting our website and mailbox. We never sell your personal data. Data may be processed within the EEA; any transfer outside the EEA uses the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
5. How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a contract are deleted after 12 months. Contract and accounting records are kept for 10 years as required by Belgian tax law.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or port your data, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. Send your request to info@fs-auto.be; we reply within 30 days. You may also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels (contact@apd-gba.be).
7. Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures — access control, encrypted connections and limited internal access — to protect your data against loss or misuse.
